The Commitment to Consumer Choice has a core requirement that every mail solicitation sent to a consumer contain notifying language that alerts the recipient to availability of modification options for future mail offers. Many DMA members have been testing language for clarity, effectiveness and creativity. Whether the notification language is contained in the mail piece itself or through one of the “access points” (website, phone or postal address), its essential that it accurately and effectively communicates the mailer’s messages to the consumer. In order to help DMA members in crafting their notification language, we have provided this clearinghouse where DMA members can share their notification language with other members. Note that this clearinghouse is secured and for DMA members only. All submitted notification language examples will be listed anonymously.
